Traditionally, Italian cuisine is associated with pasta and risotto. We offer you a recipe for the main dish, which, according to the set of ingredients and taste, will remind you of Mediterranean cuisine.

Rice with minced meat and vegetables in a tomato will perfectly serve as a hot one for lunch or dinner, on a festive table such a dish would also be appropriate. We will use the usual products (rice, tomatoes, peppers, onions), and Provencal or Italian herbs that can be used will add a special taste and aroma to the dish. When choosing rice, give preference to long-grain varieties: on a plate, it looks more attractive. As for the stuffing, use the one that your family likes, it can be pork, beef, chicken or combination. Ingredients:

Stuffing - 300 g;

Rice - 1 tbsp .;

Onions - 1 pc.;

Garlic - 1-2 cloves (optional);

Tomato - 2-3 pcs.;

Tomato paste - 2 tbsp. l .;

Sweet red pepper - 1 pc.;

Cooking oil for frying;

Water - 0.5 L;

Greenery;

Salt, pepper, aromatic herbs to taste.

Recipe.

Let's start by preparing the meat sauce. Fry the minced meat in a preheated pan. We will need a small amount of vegetable oil, which must be warmed well in a pan, and then little by little we will send the minced meat there. If you put the minced meat in small portions, letting it grab and whiten on one side, then it will remain grainy and will not stick together in one lump. Fry the minced meat for 10 minutes, stirring, seasoning with salt, pepper and adding aromatic herbs, such as thyme or oregano.

Add vegetables to the fried minced meat. We clean the onion and garlic and chop finely, send it to the pan, 2-3 minutes earlier than the rest of the vegetables. If your family does not like garlic, you can not put it. I thoroughly wash the pepper and tomatoes, remove the seed box from the pepper and cut the vegetables into a small cube. Add to the pan, let fry for 5 minutes.

The vegetables were slightly fried and let the juice go. Add tomato paste and mix the meat sauce. If necessary, bring to taste.

We cook rice separately, having previously washed it in several waters. To make rice cook faster, fill it with water in a 1: 2 ratio, and after half an hour, cook in the same water. You will see that the cooking time has been reduced, and the rice is friable. Add a little salt when the water begins to boil and, under the lid over low heat, bring the rice to readiness within 10 minutes.

Combine the finished rice with the meat part of the dish and mix.

Serve the rice hot with garnished chopped herbs.
