You can sew a little teddy bear in a New Year’s hat in order to decorate the Christmas tree, or you can give it to someone as a small souvenir. Kids will also be delighted with such a cute soft toy.
What do you need?
For the manufacture of a New Year’s teddy bear, you will need such materials:
- fleece of dark brown and beige flowers;
- felt of green, red and white colors;
- red rep ribbon;
- threads;
- black beads;
- red beads;
- multi-colored sequins;
- scissors;
- a needle;
- holofiber.
Let's make a paper pattern consisting of the following parts:
- torso;
- face;
- an ear;
- nose;
- paw;
- cap;
- edge;
- pompom;
- a tree.
Using the pattern detail, we cut out the trunk of the New Year’s teddy bear from the dark brown fleece, adding seam allowances.
Four details of the paws will also be cut out of dark brown fleece, adding seam allowances.
Two details of the ears are cut from a dark brown fleece, and two more details are cut from a beige fleece. When cutting ears, allowances must be added.
We will cut out the detail of the muzzle from beige fleece, there is no need to add allowances for the seams.
We will cut out two parts of the Christmas tree from green felt, there is no need to give allowances for the seams.
From red felt we cut two parts of the cap, and from white - two parts of the edge and one pompom. On these details, add allowances.
The details of the teddy bear’s body are folded with the front sides and sewn with dark brown threads. On the side we leave an un sewn hole.
Turn the torso and straighten.
Fold the beige eyelets with dark brown details and sew the rounded sides.
Turn out the ears.
Now we fold the details of the legs in pairs with the front sides inward and sew, leaving the straight sides of the parts un sewn.
Turn out the legs.
Fill the body with holofiber and sew a hole in the side.
On the ears we wrap the un sewn sides inwards and sew with brown threads.
Sew ears to the head.
We’ll fill the paws with holofiber.
Sew the non-sewn sides on the legs, turning the edges inward.
Sew paws to the torso.
Apply the beige detail of the muzzle to the teddy bear’s head and sew it with beige thread overcast stitches.
We will cut out the nose from the black felt and sew it to the muzzle of the teddy bear with black threads. With the same thread we sew the mouth and sew the bead eyes.
The details of the Christmas tree are compatible and will be sewn with a sewn seam, but we will not sew the bottom side.
Fill the tree with holfiber.
Sew on the Christmas tree the bottom side.
We will decorate the Christmas tree - sew on it colorful sequins and red beads.
Sew a Christmas tree to the teddy bear’s legs.
Sew details of a hat with red threads.
Sew to the cap the details of the edge.
Turn out the hat.
Wrap the edge.
Take the part of the pompom and sew along the edge with basting stitches.
We put a small lump of holofaber in the pompom. We pull off the pompom to make a ball, sew it.
Sew the pompom to the hat.
Fill the cap with holofiber.
Sew a hat to the toy.
We will tie the scarf from the red ribbon to the little bear.
So the toy looks behind.
New Year Bear is ready. Such a soft toy will delight both girls and boys. A teddy bear can easily turn into a Christmas tree toy if you sew a loop from a ribbon to the cap.
