Hemangioma represents one of the most frequent benign tumors in childhood. The type of this disease involves red spots that can appear on various parts of the body, including also the face. Based on statistics, this disease occurs in every hundredth child. She attracts attention only with her color. Spots can increase in proportion to the growth of the child, while not causing absolutely any unpleasant sensations.

It is worth noting that the activity of this disease is quite dangerous. Formed on the surface of the skin, it begins to germinate inward. If the hemangioma is concentrated near one of the organs, then it can even disrupt its performance. For example, if the lesion is located near the ear, the eardrum may collapse, as a result of which hearing may be lost.

Hemangioma - causes

To date, the final cause of the disease is still unclear, however, there are several assumptions about this. One of them is the hormonal characteristics of the child, especially for those children who were born prematurely. Also, one of the possible reasons can be considered acute respiratory infections, which my mother fell ill in the first weeks of pregnancy - the time when the vascular system of the fetus is laid. If the mother took all kinds of medications during pregnancy, this can lead to the appearance of a hemangioma of the baby. Somewhere in 97% of cases, this disease is detected immediately at the birth of the child. In some cases, hemangioma can occur only in the first month of life.

Hemangioma - Symptoms

In the beginning, it should be noted that there are various types of hemangiomas, each of which implies its own symptoms. For example, a simple hemangioma is characterized by a red or white-purple hue, located superficially. This type of disease is very clearly limited, having a smooth surface. Affecting the skin, a simple hemangioma absorbs a couple of millimeters of the subcutaneous fat layer.

Cavernous hemangioma is concentrated under the skin under the guise of a limited node. It has the appearance of a tumor-like formation, which at the top is covered with cyanotic skin.

A combined hemangioma may occur that combines the symptoms of a simple and cavernous hemangioma.

Hemangioma - diagnosis

Diagnosis of this disease is carried out only by a surgeon who can use various methods for this. First of all, this is an inspection. Also, laboratory diagnostics can be attributed here. An ultrasound study is very effective, with the help of which a specific feature of the tumor structure, its location, velocity measurement, and blood flow in the vessels is determined. If the patient has a deep and extensive type of hemangioma, then this type of diagnosis is used as an antiography.

Hemangioma - treatment

Hemangioma is a tumor that appears, grows on its own, and eventually also disappears on its own. The only problem can be considered the fact that the period of reverse development can be very long - within a few years. Therefore, if hemangioma interferes with normal life, you can seriously think about its treatment.

Fortunately, today there are very effective and less traumatic methods. The most effective way at the moment is the coagulation of damaged vessels using a laser. The laser, unlike surgery, acts much faster, minimizing the risk of relapse and leaving absolutely no trace.

Indeed, no surgical operations, freezing and other deformities of the child are now needed! it is a pity that few people know about it ... We were treated with a laser in Kiev at the Institute of Dermatology by Olga Bogomolets, 6 times went and the hemangioma left without a trace !!!!!!
