The most common way is to squeeze acne. But it is not always correct, and often simply dangerous. It is no coincidence that dermatologists, in the majority of cases, answer negatively to the question of whether it is possible to squeeze acne on the face and body. Why? Yes, because the consequences can be very, very serious:
• development of suppuration, if blood flow clogged when squeezing;
• sepsis, or blood poisoning, if an infection gets through the wound on the skin;
• the spread of acne throughout the face or body if pus enters the bloodstream;
• the formation of a scar or hyperpigmented area on the skin;
• formation of a blood clot if a piece of skin enters the vessel.
But, honestly: who of us did not do this - did not squeeze pimples, especially during the youth? Such ideal people simply do not exist. Nevertheless, doctors do face severe cases of skin lesions and blood poisoning after self-removal of pustules from the skin. Among them there are fatal episodes.
So what to do? Is it possible to squeeze acne on the face and body, or should they wait for their independent disappearance? The thing is what kind of acne we are dealing with.
If inflammation has just begun and goes through the subcutaneous stage, you simply cannot touch anything with your hands. Otherwise, the course of the inflammatory process can be aggravated, and if the formation of an abscess has already begun deep under the skin, then pus can be spread to adjacent tissues. As a result, an extensive area of inflammation is formed, a scattering of acne will appear.
It is very dangerous to crush pimples on the face, next to the nose. It is no accident that this area is called the triangle of death. There are a lot of blood vessels, and if the infection gets into the blood, it easily penetrates the brain. At least it will take a long time to heal. As a maximum, you will never have to be treated.
With extreme caution, you can independently remove only those acne on the face and body that have already formed a well-visible white purulent head over the skin, and even then, provided that the inflammatory process inside the skin is completed. You can check this by pressing on the pimple. If you feel severe pain, the process is still ongoing.
All of the above applies only to acne. If you have acne on your face, you can’t do anything on your own, either squeeze or cauterize. The appearance of purulent contents does not matter. Treatment should be carried out comprehensively, using tablets, ointments, other methods, and it should be prescribed only by an experienced dermatologist.
Can acne be squeezed out and how to do it right?
If a single pimple is bothering you, you can get rid of it yourself. This is quite easy to do, the main thing is to comply with basic safety requirements. The procedure is carried out only with clean hands, it is very good if they are additionally disinfected with an alcohol-containing agent. At a minimum, you need an antibacterial soap.
The skin around the acne must be treated with an antiseptic solution. For example, use a solution of chlorhexidine. Then press the skin on both sides of the acne and release the purulent contents.
It is important to make sure that the acne head has come out completely. If particles of pus remain in the wound, inflammation will begin again. However, one should not be too zealous: the wound will heal, and the bruise, white or brown spot will remain. As soon as blood appears, pressure must be stopped, and the wound treated with alcohol or salicylic acid.
After the formation of a crust over the wound, you need to remain calm and not touch anything, no matter how strong the desire to tear off the crust. If this is done, an ugly red mark will remain for a long time.
Can acne be squeezed out before they are fully formed? In no case. Even if an abscess is visible, it cannot be squeezed out until its formation is complete. It happens that when pressed, severe pain is felt, and the skin over the acne does not tear. This means that the inflammatory process is still ongoing. An urgent need to interrupt the procedure, treat the skin with an antiseptic.
Is it possible to burn acne with alcohol or iodine
Cauterizing skin inflammation is another way to fight acne. However, there is a danger of burns, especially when it comes to delicate facial skin. Most often, alcohol, iodine and alcohol tincture of calendula are used for cauterization. So is it possible to burn acne with alcohol or iodine?
As for the use of pharmacy tinctures of alcohol, there are practically no disagreements: they can be used for cauterization. The procedure helps prevent inflammation, but is most effective if the pimple is just outlined.
Boric alcohol is an excellent antiseptic with a good anti-inflammatory effect. It very delicately affects the skin, practically does not dry it and rarely causes a burn. It is due to its soft action that it will not have an instant effect.
Chloramphenicol is good in that it contains an antibacterial component. That is, not only dries the pimple, but also prevents the formation of new inflammatory elements. The remedy works especially well on youthful skin, when the cause of acne is increased hormonal levels.
Acne cauterization with salicylic alcohol has a stronger effect. It dries, quickly removes redness and inflammation, at the same time eliminates oily sheen and cleanses the skin of black spots - comedones. However, with all its effectiveness, it is this tool that dries the skin, so you can not use it constantly.
But as for iodine, there is no unanimity among dermatologists. Some consider iodine cauterization to be almost barbaric, while others calmly say that effectiveness justifies everything. Indeed, an iodine solution is effective against mature acne. A cotton swab should be moistened profusely in the solution and applied to the head for five to seven seconds.
Is it possible to squeeze acne treated with iodine? Not. They must open themselves to avoid additional injury to the skin dried by iodine solution.
Due to the antiseptic properties of the iodine solution, the wound quickly heals and heals. For a more effective treatment of purulent acne, spotting is recommended to be repeated at least three times a day.
You can use a combination of iodine and salicylic alcohol. This is advisable in the presence of white subcutaneous acne, or sunflowers. Cauterization of iodine is carried out at night. Soaked in a solution with a stick, you need to squeeze the eel, press, hold for a few seconds. In the morning after washing the area with an abscess, it will remain wiped with salicylic alcohol. After three to five days, the papule will open, the contents will come out, and the skin will be cleaned.
To combat purulent acne, a mixture of ½ teaspoon of iodine, 100 ml of vodka and chicken protein is good. Such a mask should be applied to the area of the abscess lesion twice a day. The face will quickly cleanse, pimples will disappear for a long time.
Thus, the question of whether acne can be burned with alcohol or iodine is resolved positively. Moreover, due to cauterization, new inflammatory foci are not formed. Unlike extrusion, the papule inside the skin is not damaged, and purulent elements do not extend to the adherence of the tissue.
