British scientists have found that if cigarettes are sold in a simple package design, smokers are not able to distinguish the brand. The study was conducted in two stages - at the beginning and after the sale of regular packs of cigarettes, which did not indicate the brand of the manufacturer. Participants in the study were residents of the British Hunter region, who have a significant smoking history.

Analysis of the research results showed that simple packaging has a strong influence on the perception of cigarette taste by smokers. Most of the subjects admitted that cigarettes seemed to be exactly the same.

The researcher who participated in the study admitted that he was once again convinced of the influence of the brand on people. It is for this reason that American tobacco companies opposed the introduction of simple cigarette packages.
