Recently, the Olivier and "fur coat" traditional for the New Year's table are a thing of the past and have given way to the more exotic delights of housewives. Everyone wants to surprise their guests with a culinary masterpiece. Only champagne, tangerines and caviar remain the constant companions of the feasts. Black caviar is still an expensive delicacy and is not present at every New Year's celebration. Red caviar is more accessible, besides it does not have such a specific taste, and its pleasant color enlivens the holiday and looks great on a piece of white bread with butter.

The Women's Opinion portal asked Russian women (as responsible for the New Year's meal) whether they are going to please themselves with a jar of red caviar for the New Year.

As it turned out, caviar remains a favorite delicacy of 37.4% of respondents - they can not imagine a holiday without it. Another 34.3% have not yet been determined, but they are inclined to acquire red caviar and include it in the menu. Caviar lovers do not just put it on a plate with a mandatory butter rose, but they also prepare various dishes with it - pancakes, flounces and salads.

Caviar was not affordable for 15.3%. They will replace it with vegetable caviar and other goodies.

13.3% do not like red caviar at all and do not understand the hype about this product. Lightly salted trout or salmon will be present on their table, and some will have black caviar.

If we summarize the results of the survey, we see that neither overseas snacks nor the crisis were able to supplant red caviar from the traditional New Year's table. She is still one of the most beloved products of Russian women. Those who are going to bite an old Russian delicacy on New Year's Eve can be reminded that caviar does not tolerate contact with iron - it takes on its specific aftertaste. In addition, it quickly winds up, so it should be opened just before serving. To decorate the dish with caviar, you should carefully rinse it with cold water - so it will be easier to separate the eggs and apply the pattern.

The survey involved 4460 women from 20 to 45 years old. The study was conducted in 127 cities of Russia.
